Dan Somoza - Hitting Instructor/ RUSH Head Coach U16
Dan Somoza is the U-16 Head Coach and Director of Baseball at Washington Rush Baseball, a connection with CNB Nationals. Dan is the Varsity Head Coach at Edmonds Woodway High School. The Warriors finished 5th in state in 2011 where he has been the Varsity coach for the last 3 years. Dan graduated EWHS in 1994 and played under Joe Webster. He played baseball at Bellevue CC where he was all league and received the silver bat award. From Bellevue he was offered a scholarship to play baseball at Oklahoma City University where he was all league and an Academic All American helping lead his team to a 3rd place finish in the NAIA world Series. Dan went on to receive his Masters in Sports Management at Nova Southeastern University and is a elementary teacher at Martha Lake Elementary. He coached for 3 years as an assistant at Bellevue CC with Mark Yoshino before becoming the JV EWHS baseball coach for 2 years. Coach Somoza has coached select ball for the last 13 years in the 18 and 16 year old level.
