Catching is the single most important position on the field. A catcher has an influence on every pitch thrown, therefore they have the most ability to influence the outcome of a game. To become a quality catcher one must develop many different skills. These skills are the focus of our catching instruction. The physical skills include receiving, blocking and throwing. Improving these skills and mastering the fundaments comes from a combination of learning how to execute them properly as well as developing good work habits.
A catcher's ability to work with his pitcher towards success is as important as any of the physical skills that can be learned. This relationship will also be a focus during instruction. It is through the development of these skills that we can improve, not only a catcher's individual success but the success of the team. This instruction and our catcher’s camp are highly recommended to coaches for any of their catching prospects!
